Love the blog. Ahhh... the more refined, hotter the fire. The more refined, more purer the outcome. The more refined and then sculpted, more valuable the final product.

Whether silver, clay, or a stick... I'd rather be refinded, molded, whittled by my trusted and faithful Maker than the world any day.

Blessed assurance. God Bless Brother Tom.

Hey Pastor,

I found this piece you wrote interesting, very interesting. It spoke out to me because time and time again, I've fallen down and stood down because I felt like quitting, but I realized failing is better than quitting.

I am still praying about bringing a group up there sometime soon. I have been working on issues of education advocacy for at-risk youth and persons with disabilities. My philosophy is that we are to "train up a child in the way he should go," and that is the path that God has intended for him or her. This goes for the whole family system, no matter what economic situation they are in. When the dad, mom, and other adults in the community are taught what Jesus has modeled, they can live productive lives and glorify him. When men are taught Jesus' example (and live it out) of laying down their lives for the women (and children), and women are taught to respect and/or build up men, there is a chance that society can benefit. Recently I have witnessed a divorce in a wealthy family, and can only guess that the biblical model of how men and women interact had disintegrated in the home.

Tom, you just left my room at the Riverside here in Saigon and you are now playing the piano in the atrium. Like you said, "I play a little".

You asked me to check out your blog so here I am....Great stuff, keep it up. We are on this Vietnam journey together and it is special for us and them (the Vietnamese).

See you at dinner - Canucks all the way!

Good timely comments Tom, interesting that they come at the same time that the roof at Henry Covington's IAMBK ministry is being completely replaced and restored, right now!

I hope that your Thanksgiving was good with family and friends!

Blessings,

Rodger
